Shocker

So six months ago I woke up one morning with my foot hurting. I thought maybe it was a bruise or a stone bruise. When my foot started hurting was when Todd had just left or was getting ready to leave for Houston. Then we had the change in insurance and a grace period for new to start. We got to Houston but as you all know we were there for only a hot minute so I didn't have time to get it checked then. So that brings us up to living here in Oklahoma and I had noticed that my foot had started to bruise and swell up more. I went to Indiana for Fall break and my parents were on my case to get it checked. Luckily my mom came back out to Oklahoma with us, I called first thing Monday morning and found out that my foot is BROKE!

The doctor does not think it is going to heal since I've been walking on it for six months but she wanted to try to put me in a boot for four weeks. While walking in the boot I still have as much pain as I had without the boot. I am pretty confident like the doctor that it is going to end up in surgery. If I do have to have the surgery it will be in December while the parents are here for Christmas.

Working the boot pretty well don't ya think? HA HA

Trip Home Recap

Instead of doing a play by play for each day I am going to let my pictures do the talking! All of my pictures were taken with my iphone so sorry for the quaility.

Brayden and Sarah at the Odon Locker. Sarah even let Brayd look back into the back to show him how they cut up the meat.

We had taco night and of course we had to have some Lime A Rita to go with it

Mom picked me flowers and had them waiting for me in my room.

Daddy took me back on our farm for a ride on the mule

Uncle Joe let Brayden drive the bobcat

Brother and I (He is not really my brother a really close family friend but feels like my brother)

Gannon and Daddy outside of the Mexican Resturaunt

Dog treats that my Aunt T makes at her shop Hollies Eats and Treats

We did a little mole hunting

Daddy and I went on morning walks

Full recap to come next week! I am also going to do a about me post so all of you wonderful new followers can learn more about me! :)

Highlights from the weekend

There is a little "housecleaning" I would like to do and get this Monday post started!

  • Thank you to everyone who entered my very first giveaway! Welcome to all my new followers! I will do a about me post in the next week so you all can get to know me better! I can't wait to get to know you guys better through comments!

  • If you would like to sponsor Country Roots City Living I am having all my ads FREE for the rest of the year! The holiday season is right around the corner and it is the time of giving and the extra money that would have been used to purchase ads can be used for your family during the holidays! :) With ALL free ads you will get an opportunity to guest post. If you are interested please email me and I will set you up with a promo code!

  • I may be a little M.I.A. this week, Brayden has Fall break this week so we are going back to Indiana to visit our family and friends. We have not been home in five months! I can't wait to go back home. My schedule is so packed and I love it!

  • Saturday night we experienced our first thunderstorm here in Oklahoma, it was interesting to say the least. There are not as many trees around it is mainly flat farm land, so when the wind picks up it really carries things. The said wind picked up and carried our trampoline to against the fence. I am happy to report that our trampoline did make it through the storm.

  • Friday evening we went and got the kids their costumes. Brayden has been pretty determined that he was going to be Batman this year. Todd was not wanting Gannon to be dressed up in a  cutesie costume so we saw a Robin costume that was his size. So our boys are now Batman and Robin.

I hope you guys had a great weekend! :)

Moving Company Disaster

Do you remember when I wrote this post on moving and suggested a certain company? Well I'm here to tell you that I'm taking that back! DO NOT use this company; we used them for our move from Houston to Oklahoma and it has been anything but smooth! I am going to try not to let my emotions show too much through this post even tho I am soooooo upset with Allied Van Lines/Morse Moving. I would rather this be informative on what they have done to us and our belongings so this hopefully won't happen to you.

1. They arrived on moving day with a crew of three; a driver and two movers. When the driver came in to inspect our items and to go over each item he had made a snarky comment that we were not fully packed. WRONG. We were fully packed, everything that was supposed to be in a box or tote was. The larger items obviously were not because the movers had to wrap them in their supplies. The driver was upset that he had to move my mirror that was attached to my dresser. He claimed it was not on the list but the company used the same list from three months prior. So I asked him if he had the supplies and again a snarky response. He replied he did, but just acted like I was the dumbest person on the planet for asking that question.  One of my most prized possessions is a jewelry chest that I got once my Mamaw passed. I explained this to the driver and he commented that he could ruin everything else but that. He did not leave enough room in his truck for our items and there was a chance that we would have to have someone else come and pick the rest of our items up, okay.. fine. it ended up where I had to pack my vehicle up to transport items and he had items on the outside of his truck strapped on the back of it.

2. To save money we purchased TV boxes to wrap our TV's in. One of the crew members tore down the box and put it on the floor where they were going to be moving our belongings in and out of. Todd was looking for the box and asked the crew if that was the box that they used on the floor. The worker (which happened to be the driver's nephew) got so upset and started bad mouthing my husband just because he was asking about the box. We were going to grab a different box to make it work but we were just looking to see if someone had placed it somewhere else.

3. After we arrived in Oklahoma and the moving company left I inspected our items. They had ruined our five month old couch as well as our two month old bed. I immediatley contacted our representative with the company and sent an email to her with pictures so she could see the damage. Upon further investigation we realized that they had also put our crib together wrong and damaged it. With the crib put together wrong the side bars were put upside down, and the right side of the crib was not bolted down at the bottom. When it is not bolted down at the bottom you can pull the bottom half out. Luckily I found it because Gannon could have gotten a body part stuck and there is a possibility that it could have caused major injury. The movers also did not put the boards on Brayden's bed back correctly. They had just laid most of them down and picked the ones that they wanted to screw in. Needless to say his boards broke in half and we had to replace and repair those also.

4. When notifying the company I have made it all the way up to speaking with the VP of the company. They have offered us compensation for our trouble; they want to send a $50 restaurant gift card. Once I was notified of what they were willing to send us I felt it as almost a slap in the face. The safety of my child is only worth $50 in food to them. They finally said they would send a check in that amount. I am now waiting to speak with the President of the company. This amount does not include the items that were ruined. I can imagine what that amount will be since they only want to give $50. The contacted and filed a complaint with the BBB which will remain on file for three years.

This really is horrible that all of this has happened; my reps before all of this were so great to work with. They made the first move so easy and nonstressful.

Also I want to remind everyone don't forget to enter my giveaway! It will end tomorrow night at 12am CST.

Lets talk about hair baby

You like the title? Doesn't it remind you of the Salt n Peppa songs? Quick story my bestie LB and I would always jam to Salt and Peppa one time we were suppose to be going to a college day. Well we technically went but just never got out and walked around campus instead we drove around, jammed to music, went shopping, and went out to eat.

Okay moving along, I thought I would share my hair products that I use on the daily. I've found that by using these products my hair feels and looks so much healthier. My hair has taken a growth spurt and since I color it I want to protect my hair the best I can.

Weekend Wrap up

So I am a day late doing the weekend wrap up but hey better late than never right? Friday night we went and ate pizza at this place called Andolini's Pizza. I was looking online trying to find a good pizza place. Our family loves us some pizza. So when I saw the pictures of what the pizza's looked like I thought we hit gold, just kidding the pizza was nothing short than a huge plate of grease. Needless to say we will not be going back!  I ended up getting a migraine while eating our pizza so once we were done and home I was pretty much spent and didn't move from the bed.

Saturday was such a cold and raining day! Part of me was glad I could bundle up but then I also love my hot weather. One of the blogs I follow The Roaring Twenties told me of this pumpkin patch called Carmichaels. I knew we HAD to go, I am so glad we did. We all had a great time. They had so many pumpkins to choose from, they had a small hay maze for the kids, they had another little maze that was closed in, farm animals that you could feed, pony and camel rides, hayrides, and they had a concession where you could go in and warm up, get snacks, and some decorations. We will definately be going back next year!

I'm not sure what is going with the first picture of Brayden climbing on the pumpkins. I've tried to adjust the color but it was just not working for me.

If you follow me on instagram (linsw00) or fb I got a ton of comments on my hair. I guess I am the one always behind the camera taking the pictures that nobody really sees what I do look like. If you guys are interested on what I use and what not on my hair let me know, I might just do a whole post on it! I am so so picky about my hair! :)

Sunday Brayden went with me to the grocery and since it is getting colder here in Oklahoma we needed some long sleeve shirts for him and Gannon. Brayden is the best little shopper with manners. Everytime he got into someones way he would always say excuse me or sorry. I hope he keeps his manners up always!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway! I am so excited about it since it is my FIRST one! :)

Ramblings

  • We have offically been in Oklahoma for one week! I can say that I absoultly LOVE it here. I love the location where we live, I love the people, I LOVE Brayden's school. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

  • Thank you for praying for my friends son. He came through surgery very well. They ended up draining 8ml of fluid off of his cyst.

  • Some sad news...we got a txt from Grandpa (Todd's dad) yesterday and he told us that Issac (one of their Golden Retrivers) passed away suddenly. They were on a walk and Issac acted like he didn't want to go any further which is not normal for him, they got home went to the vet and got blood work done. They got home he went outside then once in they went to check him about 30 minutes later and he had passed. They are thinking it was a stroke. He was a gentle giant that was so beautiful. On his mane he had some curl it was the medium blonde color. He was so gentle and protective of our kids when we would go over there. He was 9.5 years old.

  • We are almost totally unpacked. The only thing we really have left to do is to hang up our pictures. In our TX house I didn't want to bother hanging anything, here I want to hang stuff and make it feel more like home. I am going to have Todd finish hanging up the wall decor. One of my items I have an old farm window pane I think there are six panes that I had my friend Jodi she scuffed it and painted it black. I am going to get some pictures printed and get that hung finally! I've got the perfect spot for it.

  • This weekend the plans are to go find a pumpkin patch, decorate for Fall/Halloween, and we plan on hitting up the Tulsa State Fair.

  •  For my Indiana friends I think we are coming (the kids and I) in two weekends! :) You better pencil me in because it has been almost five months since I have seen y'all and you bet we are haning out! :) See that LB!!!

  •  I made a Halloween funfetti cake tonight, I was going to save it for something for Brayd and I to do this weekend together but he really wanted it tonight. I caved, he has had a fantastic two days at school and I can't say no to his baby blues. I did get some pretty good kisses for making it. I posted pictures on instagram if you don't follow me you should! :) @linsw00

  • You better come back on Monday I am hosting my first ever giveaway! There are some really awesome prizes in the giveaway!

  •  I am excited that I am past the 50 followers. That makes me really excited and happy that people are interested in my ramblings on my little piece of the internet. I love all the comments I get too! :)

  •  I hope you all have a great weekend. Sorry for the bullets but I had a bit of rambling to do for today! :)

Pizza Cupcakes

Before I get into showing you my newest recipe from Pinterest I wanted to ask if you all would pray for my friend. I've spoke before of Peyton on here but today little Peyton is going in for another brain surgery. There is a cyst that is connected to the tumor and the doctor needs to go in there and drain the cyst. Please pray for steady hands of the doctor and that Peyton will come out of this surgery strong! :)

My newest recipe is called Pizza Cupcakes. I found it on Pinterest one day and this family loves pizza so it was a no brainer I was going to try it. The night I was going to make it our oldest kept asking if we could order pizza. I finally made a deal with him telling him if I totally screwed the recipe up then we would order pizza. Needless to say he ended up eating three of these little cupcakes.

Ingredients
Pizza dough from refigrator section-I used the Pillsbury kind
Pizza Sauce
Cheese
Toppings-I used pepperoni

Spray pan and spread dough in cupcake pan

Spoon sauce into the cucpake dough

Add the amount of cheese you want

Add your topping you would like

Bake according to the dough package. I think mine said 400 degrees for about 10 mins.

ENJOY! :)

OHP

Can you believe it is Wednesday already! I feel like this week is flying. I am a little sleep deprived at the moment. For some strange reason our two year old has been fighting us when we put him to bed at night. He will sleep for a couple of hours then like clock work he is up at 12:30 and it is a fight to get him back down. He has been going back down at 3AM. This means this momma isn't getting much sleep at all!

I am really liking linking up on Wednesdays with The Vintage Apple for OHP! I hope you enjoy this weeks pins. Tomorrow I have a fantastic recipe for ya so make sure you come back! One last thing don't forget to check out my post here about Bright Lily!
